“Praying to the Sovereign God in the Midst of Persecution”

Acts 4:23-32

Question: How does the church in Jerusalem react to persecution, and the chief priests’ and elders’ command not to preach Christ?

Answer: THEY PRAY!

# 1 They pray - neither for judgment on those who are persecuting them, nor to avoid persecution - but for enablement preach the gospel with great boldness.

# 2 They pray to be granted miracles – performed in Jesus’ name - which gives credit to their gospel preaching.
