Invest Wisely, Christian
November 15, 2015 Preacher: Series: The Parables of Jesus
Passage: Luke 12:13–31
“Invest Wisely, Christian”
Luke 12.13-21
The Parable of the Rich Fool
Point # 1 Purely selfish accumulation of possessions is incompatible with true Christian discipleship.
Point # 2 This incompatibility stems from the transience of earthly riches and the coming reckoning that all will face before God.
Saving vs. Hoarding
1) Do we trust God to provide for all our needs?
2) Are we willing to let go of our savings for God's work?

A few biblical principles to remember*
• Ownership: all of our money belongs to God.
• Stewardship: we are to be faithful managers of God’s money.
• Morality: money is not evil; however, it can be used to expose the evil that inhabits our hearts.
• Materialism: we are drawn toward desiring and idolizing money and possessions.
• The Treasure Principle: you cannot take it with you, but you can send it on ahead.
