Blessed Assurance: Joyfully Confident of Final Glory!

Passage: Romans 5:1–11
“Blessed Assurance: Joyfully Confident of Final Glory!”
Romans 5:1-11
THE BIG PICTURE: With joyful confidence, Christians should contemplate again what we have in Christ: a new relationship with God (“justification,” “peace with God,” “reconciliation”) that overcomes all present adversity (“we glory in our sufferings”) and that provides absolute security for the life to come (“rejoicing in the glory of God,” “hope does not put us to shame,” “saved from wrath”). Such contemplation can lead only to rejoicing!
Point # 1 Rejoice, Christian! Being justified by faith alone means believers can be joyfully confident of final glory (5: 1-4)
Point # 2 Rejoice, Christian! Our future hope/joyful confidence is based on God’s love for us in Christ (5:5–8)
Point # 3 Rejoice, Christian! Our future hope/joyful confidence is based on the historical fact that God has acted for us in Christ (5:9–11)
