PAUL’S SHORT-TERM MISSION TRIPS?
CONCERNS ABOUT SHORT-TERM TRIPS
SHORT-TERM MISSIONS THAT HELP
Keeping the Long Term in View
➢ Ensure short-term trips are usefully connected to long-term works we know well and support.
➢ The ultimate goal that our short-term work would result in members from New City someday living long-term in the places to which we have committed. But doing this may also mean that instead of constantly looking for new missions experiences, we should identify just a few strategic places and send people to them over and over, for years.
Preparing for the Short-Term Trip
1. Be focused on God’s glory among the nations.
2. Be humble.
3. Be prepared to spend yourself and be spent.
4. Be flexible.
5. Be a learner.
6. Be encouraging.
7. Be extravagant in service.
8. Be low maintenance.
9. Be patient.
10. Be focused on God’s glory among the nations.
