Passage: Psalm 73:1–28

Big Picture: When the wicked prosper, it troubles the righteous. Drawing near to God—in the ways he prescribes—is the only way to avoid plunging into envy and bitterness because it realigns our sin-tainted perspective on life and reveals a worldview that is infinitely glorious.

Introduction: A wavering hope (1)

1)  The challenge to the hope (2-14)

             -Blinding envy

             -The wicked seem carefree.

 

2)  The hope upheld (15-20)

             -Sober self-reflection

             -Approaching God

 

3)  The hope gloriously expanded (21-27)

            -God guides his people.

            -God glorifies his people

            -God gives his people himself.

 

Conclusion: A grounded hope (28)
