Preserving and Persevering in the Gospel

September 21, 2025 Preacher: John Bell Series: The Pastoral Epistles

Passage: 2 Timothy 1:1– 2:2

How do Christians preserve and persevere in the gospel?

1. We must “fan into flame” the gift of the indwelling Holy Spirit. (1:3–7)

2. We must maintain a clear grasp of the value of the gospel (1:8–11)

3. We must maintain a willingness to suffer for the gospel (1:12)

4. We must guard the gospel (1:13-14)

5. We must distinguish between betrayers and supporters of the gospel (1:15–18)

6. We must work hard at passing on the gospel (2:1-2)
