The Glory of True Forgiveness

May 24, 2026 Preacher: Paul Martin Series: Psalms

Passage: Psalm 32:1–11

I. The joy and wonder of getting truly forgiven (1-2)
II. The barrier to true forgiveness (3-4)
III. The path to true forgiveness (5)
IV. The safety of true forgiveness (6-7)
V. The call to pursue true forgiveness (8-10)
VI. The result of true forgiveness (11)
There is something in the human heart that prefers to hide sin, rather than be forgiven of it. The Lord is clear that will not do. Wise Christians will regularly “do business with the Lord,” so that they do not end up hearing the words, “Thou art the man!” Even if we mess up royally, there is always a path to being restored to God for the true follower of Jesus Christ. This Psalm urges us to come clean and be truly forgiven.
